KUAC Shuts Off Analog on Thursday!

KUAC Shuts Off Analog on Thursday!

To help prepare viewers for the shutdown of analog TV service in February, KUAC is conducting a "soft test" the evening of Thursday, January 15. KUAC will cease analog programming for three minutes to prepare viewers for the DTV transition.

Tune in to KUAC Thursday from 6:25-6:28PM to see if you are prepared. If you are an over-the-air viewer receiving our signal through UHF rabbit ears or rooftop antennae, you will see a blank screen during the soft test. If you receive your signal through a television equipped with a digital tuner, a converter box or pay service, your KUAC programming will remain uninterrupted.

While there are many consumer education efforts already underway at our various stations, it is our hope that this soft shut-down can serve as an educational tool for our audiences to test their current set-ups and to take whatever steps are necessary for them to be ready by February.
